We
generally used like the metal casing of most Casio cameras. It was a tad
thicker than others we have tested; however it was still small enough
pro a wash pants pocket. The digital camera is very solid, feels
extremely well-made, and the metal body resist minor falls and scratch.
All the push buttons were much responsive, and most were tag well enough
to know without too much difficulty. The lens retracts into the camera
body whilst the digital camera is turn off or in photo review mode,
giving reasonable protection of digital camera.

The 2.5" LCD is as a most effective viewfinder, however like nearly
everyone LCDs, the very low-resolution prevents it from being a very
well indicator of whether a picture will turn out well once it was on
our personal computer. Even, we comprehend this is a main problem that
will be endemic to high-megapixel cameras.
Camera Quality
The EX-V8 has a most effective 7X optical zoom lens, particularly by its
relatively slim size. ISO settings should have presented a little higher
than ISO 800, particularly when comparable recent models are shipping by
ISO 1600. We’d like to see a few better stats as of a $300 camera,
therefore it appears most of the money went into the 8.1 megapixel
sensor, anti-shake and the 7x interior optical zoom.
The auto-focus never seemed to work correctly pro us. The motor that
drove the lens was always whirring, and merely stopped once we pressed
the shutter. The anti-shake made an absolute difference, on both video
and motionless shots, working much better than further Casio most recent
models we’ve tested. That being said, it generally didn’t matter,
because the picture was blurred not through our hand trembling but the
failing autofocus.
Set up on the EX-V8 was very speedy, no suspicion aided with the
mechanical slide-open on switch. We were capable to go from the off
position to a (relatively) focused, completed photo in under 2 seconds,
other than unlike other latest cameras the time between successive shots
did not recover. We resembling the in-camera editing functions (counting
rotation, resizing and cropping). But as we explain before, thanks to
extremely high photo resolutions, the LCD’s resolution was excessively
low to see if the editing we did was an development or not.
Image Quality
We tried
extremely hard, other than we were absolutely incapable to like any of
the photos we took by this latest digital camera. Very Dim-light,
sunlight, inside or outside, the pictures just looked very bad. Lots of
noise, blurry subjects and a whole inability to focus automatically all
made each picture suffer, so much that we couldn’t find out one suitable
model to display. Outside daylight shots worked very best, but the
camera rarely focused on what we wished it to. We found ourselves moving
the digital camera pending the small blinking box turned green, which
was more annoying than extremely helpful.
