Olympus loves its Stylus line of cameras. They're glossy, they're thin,
they're fashionable, and they're climate opposed to. That's surely the
container with the Olympus Stylus 750, a 7-megapixel photograph camera
with together digital and visual image stabilization.
The Stylus
750's sturdy metal body is a mild wedge form, making the camera very at
ease for one-handed use. though, the tapering left side makes it still
more ill at ease for left-handed user than most point-and-shoots. The
wheel is more often than not level buttons that are receptive under the
thumb, but very similar in feel. It's simple to by chance hit the menu
button in its place of the way pad when looking over photos. The
authority and the image-stabilization buttons sit on also side of the
shutter let go, but they're buried enough that you almost certainly
won't by chance press them while shooting.

Although light on the physical controls, the Stylus 750 has some
extremely nice skin. Similar to all Styli, its metal body has rubber
gaskets and seals to stay water and cream out. You can't shoot undersea,
but you can splatter it without fear or uncertainty. Olympus includes a
36mm-to-180mm (35mm equal), 5X optical zoom lens by means of image
stabilization, greater than previous to by digital image stabilization
and a compassion maximum of ISO 1,600 for a number of extra kick in
low-light shooting. The Stylus 750 has no physical exposure wheel, but
29 scene modes let informal shooters put the camera for the kind of shot
they desire. A choppy 15fps VGA film mode is also obtainable, though
most cameras present the smoother 30fps video modes.
The Stylus 750 perform lethargically in our tests, particularly in dim
light. It took 2.4 seconds from power-on to primary shot. We endure a
2.2-second wait flanked by shots in brilliant light, a pause so as to
more than doubled to 4.5 seconds by means of the aboard flash enable.
Shutter insulate was a reputable 0.6 second in vivid light, increasing
to 1.5 seconds in dim circumstances. Burst form was glaringly slow,
taking somewhat more than 0.8 shots per next
The camera
shaped a number of very nice images, with comparatively few flaws. Noise
was astonishingly low, residual a fine granule, even at ISO 800. At ISO
1,600, it become of course difficult, with a sparkly, grainy layer
soften details. We noticed little fringing or lens bend, but some JPEG
density artifacts managed to move stealthily into our photos. The
routine white equilibrium produced very temperate results with the
tungsten lights in our lab, although the tungsten set yield much more
neutral results--so if you're shooting in your livelihood room by means
of a gathering of lamps on, keep in mind to switch to tungsten. Outside,
in usual daylight, the auto white equilibrium do a fine job.
