On Tuesday
I review the Olympus mju 780, the mid-range replica from the well-liked
range of durable compacts. Today I'm captivating a seem at a similar
model as of the inferior end of the range, the mju 760. I don't more
often than not appraisal two such alike cameras so close jointly, but
Olympus wants its cameras rear tomorrow so I have no option. Not to be
anxious though, since though the mju 760 does split a lot of features
with the 780 it too has several significant difference and is surely
worthy of its own appraisal.
Purchase Camera By:
The clearest dissimilarity flanked by the two cameras is the go fast
lens. Where the 780 has an f/3.3 - 5.0 5x go fast lens equal to
36-180mm, the 760 has a somewhat slower f/3.4 - 5.7 3x zoom lens equal
to 37-111mm. Other than this, the essential requirement is very alike,
with a 7.1-megapixel 1/2.3-in sensor, 2.5-in 230k LCD monitor, ISO 1600
utmost compassion and a weather-resistant body.
In look as well the two cameras are obviously very closely coordinated,
with the same bent wedge form, though there is a figure of cosmetic
difference. For a create, whereas the corpse of the 780 is covered
entirely in metal, the majority of the rear half of the 760's container
is plastic, with a metal facial over the rear board. though it is still
a very strongly built and satisfactorily finished camera, and is in fact
only five grams lighter, the 760 somehow feels cheaper and less
considerable. This is not completely illusory, since the 760 only costs
approximately £120, some £50 less that the 5x go fast model. This low
price and essential specification denote that the mju 760 is rival with
budget 7MP compacts from several other manufacturer, including the new
Nikon Coli L14 and S200, both around £130, the Pentax Optio M30 at
around £140, the Casio Exilim EX-Z75 at beneath £110 and the Samsung
L700 at £115, not to talk about Olympus' own FE-230 at around £100. Of
course none of these cameras contain the mju's weatherproof
qualifications, so that's one benefit it has.
Other
beauty difference includes the plan of the control board. The 760 lacks
the large illuminate controls of the 780, in its place contribution a
visually appealing but inside fact rather tricky arrangement of four
buttons and a cross-shaped D-pad. As well as this it has a little
partly-recessed mode call with only six settings, a divide button on the
top panel to function the image stabilization scheme, and a little
rocker switch for the zoom run. Because the back panel is level and the
zoom manage stands out it is in fact slightly easier to function than
that of the 780.
